WE THOUGHT OF YOU TODAY, BUT THAT IS NOTHING NEW.
WE THOUGHT ABOUT YOU YESTERDAY AND DAYS BEFORE THAT TOO.
WE THINK OF YOU IN SILENCE. WE OFTEN SPEAK YOUR NAME.
NOW ALL WE HAVE ARE MEMORIES AND YOUR PICTURE IN A FRAME.
YOUR MEMORY IS OUR KEEPSAKE, WITH WHICH WE’LL NEVER PART.
GOD HAS YOU IN HIS KEEPING, WE HAVE YOU IN OUR HEARTS.
We are here to celebrate the life of Tommy Lee Bartee Sr, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, friend and acquaintance.
Tommy Bartee Sr. went home to glory on August 14, 2022 at the tender age of 72.
Tommy, better known as Tom or Mr. Bartee to most was born October 23, 1949, in Cleveland Ohio, and later moved with his family to Lubbock TX.
Tommy was an “A” student in high school and was offered a full ride scholarship to Duke University. After high school Tommy enlisted into the United States Army, where he served his country for 20 years as a Combat Medical Specialist, retiring as a Staff Sergeant from the 429th Medical Company (FORCECOM) in 1988. His service to the United States Army allowed him to acquire the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, the Gold Recruiters Badge, a Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign medal, Vietnam Service Medal in leu of three, the Army Commendation Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon in leu of three, and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
He is preceded by Margaret Ann Oree Bartee (first wife), Howard Bartee (brother), and Kalonji Bartee (son)
He survived by his wife Joann Bartee, {Linden, NC}, children Katrina Bartee Graham (Ike), Tommy Jr. (VaQuan), Michael, {all of Charlotte, NC}, Jeremiah (Tomekia), {Fayetteville, NC}, and stepchildren Derrick Lord {Las Vegas, NV}, Daron Lord (Ehrika), {Tom Ball, TX}, Danielle Lord, Dyan Lord Smith (Terrence), {both of Spring Lake, NC}.
He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great grands.
Tom had an impact on so many lives and we will never forget Mr. Bartee...creator of the phrase LBNs, always the jokester and the “tell it like it is” guy. God makes no mistakes so until we meet again, rest in eternal peace.
WE, THE FAMILY, WISH TO EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE TO OUR MANY RELATIVES AND FRIENDS FOR THEIR MANY ACTS OF KINDNESS RENDERED DURING OUR TIME OF BEREAVEMENT. MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU.
